Kitchen Chalkboard Plan

8:44:00 PM

I  have a new plan in the works....
and here is the room:

This is the back of my kitchen and this wallpaper is out of date...
The wallpaper is also above my cabinets and around another window in the kitchen....

I saw this great picture in Pottery Barn that for some reason made me think of the wall behind my table:

I'm thinking that the wall between my windows should be  chalkboard, like in this picture...
I will paint the wall a tan color (because most of the kitchen is painted that color already).

And I will paint a really large chalkboard between the windows.
Only I'm planning on painting some large nail heads on the corners of the blackboard... and some shading
(trompe l'oeil) to make it look like there is actually a chalkboard hanging there...
and then I'll hang a clock in the center...
Here is my sketch:

I'm feeling the motivation.
I think this is the right thing to do..
It's pretty cost efficient considering I already have the paint...
What do you think?

  2. I'm new here, glad to find your blog :D
I love the idea of a chalkboard wall between the windows, and I think to make it look "right" since you aren't going above the window, that the nailheads is PERFECT! Can't wait to see!
