I Need to Lighten Up!

6:53:00 AM

My living room never seemed right...

(Don't worry... I know you can't see anything in this pic...)
The walls were dark green, the couch and chairs were dark green with maroon pillows, the rug was black and tan, the curtains were maroon and most of the furniture was brown....
IT WAS WAY TOO DARK!
So...
I brightened it up!
We painted the walls a warm yellow,
and put a light sisal carpet down on the floor...

(I cut the legs down on this table to make it coffee table height)

I'm even liking it on the rolling dolly I found...
....not sure about this one but I do like it in real life!

I'm keeping the comfy furniture (for now)
but I lightened up the pillows...
tutorial here

I put up new white curtains... These were
pretty thick (from Ikea) because privacy is
an issue here.

I put up mostly white decorations on the window shelf....

Bienvenue tutorial here.

and lightened up the accessories on the table...

I slip-covered the wing chair...

I put up a curtain that matches the walls between the living room and the next room, it gives privacy and lessens distractions
when someone is watching TV.

When I walked downstairs this morning the first
think I thought was how light and bright this room was...

Mission accomplished!
