Chippy-Beachy Charm
This weekend we visited a beautiful beach community just
a short ferry ride from my home.
A haven for artists...
and lovers of everything wooden, rusty and chippy...

Lining the narrow streets are cute little beach cottages...

 in lovely beachy colors...

Each cottage has a beautiful front gate...
Some have wooden pickets...

Others are very geometric...

And some are just... well, different...

Many artists live in this community...
Their art (and rusty junk) is everywhere....

Now this is a junky garden!...

Shell peace sign...

Painted fish...

They don't allow real cars here.

When you get off the ferry you ride a bike or pull a little
red wagon down the narrow street to the ocean.

Everywhere you look the old, weathered, chippy paint is beautiful...

I guess I'm not the only one who thinks so...

I spent a beautiful day in an artsy-beachy
community that was a great new place to discover
rusty-chippy beauty!

  4. I have been mulling over what kind of gate to build on our deck and these examples are great!

It is a lot harder to peg you this week. I am guessing the sifting boxes with the sand dollar and the star fish.
