Bring on the Fall!

My Fall mantel decorating is all about wooden baskets,
my favorite rusties,
and white candle holders.

Character is added with old rulers shaped into stars,

several crisp white frames,

and a garland of fall leaves and fabulous cement pumpkins.

Scrabble tiles welcome "autumn"

and a hint of fall can be found in the shelves
to the left and to the right.

More autumn accents around the room,

and finally a bowl of leaves, mini pumpkins, and gourds!

Good-bye Summer....
Welcome Fall!

  2. Agree...bring on the fall! I hope to do some decorating this week too. I had to smile at the C clamp on the shelf...I have them "clamped" all over at my house too :) Your decorations look great! Chat again soon, Laurel

  3. AHA! I need to go thru my hubby's workplace when he is not around. Oh the treasures I am sure to find. Decorating with found pieces is so wonderful. I know he has a lot of stuff I can use. Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. I'd say you are all ready for Fall, Susan! Love the use of the Scrabble tiles; I've been wanting to get some tiles from old games at thrift stores but haven't had any luck so far.

  5. The mantel is gorgeous! This has to be one of my favorite seasons to decorate. My house is all earth tones so autumn decor really works for me.
I took away some great ideas from your mantel that I will use in mine. I've got a couple of rusty gears that I know what to do with now!
Cool printer's block in your last post. I think the pillow you made with it was awesome!

  6. It looks super. Love the ruler!
It was so hot here the last few days, the beach was the place to be!
We went apple picking today, it was hot, but a block from the ocean, so we got a cool breeze. The gkids were sweating and wanted to go back to go swimming!
    Hope you are healing!

  7. Hi Susan-

I love all of your fall decor on your mantel and home - the folding rule star is just perfect! Your photos are beautiful so vivid and colorful.

I am happy to have inspired you to use baskets in your desk/hutch. I added them a few years ago when I didn't want books or knick-knacks anymore on the shelves. I got the baskets at IKEA. They just make the piece look a bit more updated.

    My best- Diane
