Re-purposing a China Cabinet... TV Stand

I showed you what I did with the top half of the
china cabinet in part 1...

Now I'm going to show you what I did with the bottom.

Here is what the china cabinet looked like after I removed the doors.

My plan was to make it match my armoire door table in some way.

I stenciled and stained a board for the top that would close off the holes left by removing the top of the cabinet.
Not a bad start, the rustic board is the look I'm after but it doesn't go with the color and I still hate the piece, it just wasn't working.
So, I decided I had nothing to lose and I started pulling the piece apart. I removed the drawers,
drilled holes in the back of the cabinet for wires,
and lined the space with a board that matched the top. I put the TV receiver and Wii inside to see if they fit and luckily they did!
I took out the 2 small side drawers and removed the drawer glides.
In place of the drawers I'm using baskets.
This is the main idea but still the wrong color.
In order to really transform this piece, I need to paint it.
I bought new handles and black paint with primer and I'm going to try home-made chalked paint recipe on it.
Here's a Hint...
I sure don't hate it anymore!
To be continued. see the results here!
