Vintage Crocheted Doily Garland

What to do with a pile of vintage doilies passed to
me from my grandmother.

Too beautiful to just sit in a box or a drawer so I created
a garland that can be hung in my shop or sold for
someone else's enjoyment.

I folded each doily over a length of jute string, hot glued
a few points along the string,
then sewed a vintage button to the center of each doily.

Some of the doilies were rectangular and made
a beautiful square pennant.

Other pieces were large squares so I folded them in half
and hung them in a triangle shape.

Beautifully hung on my repurposed china cabinet
also a gift from my grandmother's estate.

Hanging on the white piece I transformed from a side of the road find and then found a wine rack that fit perfectly inside.

Anywhere these beautiful vintage doilies hang will be a reminder of days gone by and the intricate crochet work
someone put into them.
