Welcome to the Porch Sign

Another great reason to get out and
walk early in the morning...

Besides the great exercise, you get to be one
of the first people to check out the neighbors' trash piles.

This lovely painted, chippy, old board was sticking right out
of someone's garbage can.  Not wanting to slow down my
other 3 walking buddies, I went back with the car after my walk.

This 5 foot piece of painted pine was perfect. I didn't need to do
a thing to it except to wash it down.

I printed out the words I wanted on my computer, used a piece of carbon paper in between the paper and the board... and traced.

I painted in the letters with black craft paint, gave it a quick
once-over with sandpaper to distress the letters,
and the sign was good to go.

I added a rusty piece of hardware for a hook to hang a wreath.

And 2 hours later the neighbors trash was ready to hang!

And that my friends is the real fun of exercise!
