Herb Garden in a Wooden Tote

The perfect place to grow your herbs...

Wooden herb crate diy with full tutorial .

Here is an easy project you can make with a wooden tote you buy or with one you make yourself.

I've included my affiliate links to products that will help you create this project yourself. Click on the dark links.

I began by painting my tote with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in one of my favorite colors... Lucketts Green

Wooden crate painted with miss mustard seed milk paint for herbs.

I painted one side of the tote with a darker green and created vinyl letters using a Silhouette machine.

The letters are then transferred to the dark green side and I painted over the whole board including the vinyl lettering with the Lucketts color.

Using vinyl letters to create a painted sign look on a wooden crate.

When the paint dried I peeled off the vinyl letters revealing the dark green paint underneath.

Wooden herb crate makes a great DIY gift.

I distressed the lettering using 220 grit sandpaper then coated the entire tote with Miss Mustard Seed Tung Oil which is a good sealer to use outdoors.

The bottom of the tote is lined with plastic and containers of herbs are placed inside the tote.

Spanish moss layers the containers to create a finished look.
