Painting the House a Beautiful Neutral

Here is a flashback to the paint colors we used to transform our dark home a few years ago. We transformed it using a beautiful neutral color and it looks light, bright, and amazing.
The fall colors on the mantel enhance the beautiful neutrals and the decorations for any season will pop!

I am in love with these results!

Lighter and brighter...

and yes I got rid of 1/2 the stuff on the walls and around the house. (again!)

The old color was nice but too dark.

The new color... Ballet White by Benjamin Moore is beautiful!

The neutral living room is perfect, just change the orange to red and I've got Christmas!

You can read all about the gallery wall in the staircase.

And since this post was originally written we painted the railings on the staircase.

The kitchen is also Ballet White and the color is perfect with the Chalk Painted® kitchen cabinets we did a while back.

The DIY on that rolling kitchen cart was a fun project.

There is an interesting story of the Hands painting.

While the painters painted, I painted.

I painted every frame and shelf in the room white.

I love how my collections pop against the light colors.

Bulletin board and Exit sign

As a sign maker I have more than a few signs around my house... like the outhouse sign on the bathroom.

Living room and overlay

After taking everything off the walls and moving everything out of every room on the first floor, the project is done and the house looks beautiful.

I highly recommend a light, bright, neutral theme using pops of color as accents.
