How to Make a Rustic Stenciled Tray

This beautiful rustic tray was downright copied from my friend Donna...

Donna from Funky Junk Interiors has a gorgeous line of stencils called Old Sign Stencils.

These well made, popular stencils are perfect for all kinds of projects but today I'm making a coffee tray just like the one Donna made.

You can visit her site to see the complete DIY on this project.

I began my tray with repurposed wood... from a futon to be exact.

I took apart the futon and used the boards for my tray.

I attached the boards, then attached the handles.

I painted the tray white then stenciled on the Coffee Roasters stencil.

I distressed the tray using a palm sander to give it a very rustic look.

The tray is perfect for sitting by the fire sipping on a warm cup of coffee.
