A Beautiful Place to Slow Down

This beautiful piece of America is an amazing place to stop and think.

My husband and I decided to take a little nature walk this morning and I thought it would be a good time to grab my camera.

This is the entrance to the pond and we were the only humans to be found.

By the looks of the sign, it's not a real popular destination and you are on your own to find your way around.

It is hard to believe that an hour from here you could be in the center of NYC.

It's easy to forget you are that close to a mass of humanity.

I honestly felt like I was on vacation in some deserted rain forest for a little while.

My husband was thinking Naked and Afraid... I however was not!

The pond was filled with fish and from the look of the lure stuck in this tree... someone else already knows that.

If you look closely in the center of this picture you can see the huge swan we found skimming a snack off the top of the water.

It's nice to know that places like this still exist in this world.

The best part was that I spied a DIY two story home some talented woodpecker built for himself and his family.

I'm calling this a little stay-cation from the busy world on this holiday weekend.

We are stopping to remember all the men and women who died to protect and defend our freedom and our beautiful world this Memorial Day weekend.
