Homeroad meets Funky Junk Interiors

This morning I'm heading out to visit a friend.

Not just any friend but a friend I've been looking forward to meeting for a long time.

Almost 6 years ago I started my blogging career and the very first blog I followed was Donna's from Funky Junk Interiors

I loved her rustic style and that she was so willing to teach others.

Donna was the first one to encourage me to pick up power tools and create my own projects.

She told not to worry about my totes being perfect... isn't that what we like anyway? Rustic and not perfect? She was right!

So I bought some tools and the rest is history.

Thanks to Donna's encouraging words I've made and sold hundreds of handmade projects since then.

Donna is a great mentor and encouraged me often on the finer points of blogging.

Donna is braving a visit to the big city and I'm headed off to NYC to finally meet my virtual junker friend from Canada that I've talked with on line weekly but never met in person.... until now.
