A repurposed headboard makes a beautiful sign.

A disassembled free headboard made not only one sign that I donated to a very worthy cause but it made this beautiful Lunch sign as well.

The headboards came apart very easily and gave me a pile of great pieces I'm using for several projects.

I began this sign by painting the top of the headboard white with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®

Using a Lunch stencil from Old Sign Stencils by Funky Junk Interiors

These beautiful sturdy stencils are customizable so you can use all or part of each stencil for your project.

For this sign I'm using the large word LUNCH and because of the size of my sign, only the bottom of the stencil served daily.

When the paint dried I lightly distressed the headboard edges and the lettering.

The shape of this headboard was perfect for the arched word LUNCH on this stencil.
