Stenciled Pumpkin Spice Tray for the Fall

Another piece headed back to the thrift store... I can only keep so much so when I don't use something for a long time, I send it back. My own recycling program of sorts!
Vintage tray

I remember this design from my grandmother's house when I was a kid. She had coasters made from the same pattern. I think that's why I brought it home in the first place. This tray however, was a mess. Scratched and chipped, it was ready for a make-over.

The first thing I did was to paint the tray.

I used Raw Silk by Fusion Mineral Paint. You can find a Fusion Mineral Paint dealer near you by visiting this link.

Add a stencil...

When the paint dried I added my image using the Pumpkin Latte stencil by Old Sign Stencils.

I customized the look using only parts of this stencil, placing the words and designs so they fit on the tray. Another tray I customized the design to fit the space is this Rustic Lakehouse Tray.

This is one tray I'm glad I decided to up-cycle rather than send back to the thrift store!
