Today I found a great project just cleaning out the garage.

My find of the day was an old hammer head with no handle. 
Come on, you know you would have just chucked it...

But not me... I used it.

I added small magnets to the back of some porcelain number tags with E6000 glue.

Sometimes a project comes from a very unexpected place. 

We are having some fun in the sun today!

My yard is filled with garden junk and I love to keep the birds happy with birdhouses and feeders.

Every garden could use a little height for interest. 

Tiered trays are a great way to recycle pieces that were headed to the trash. 

It's garden time... and that means grabbing every junky thing I can find and filling it with flowers. 

Here is how I created an outdoor industrial drink tray from a garage sale find.

Storage is something you can never have enough of...
So when I pulled this old rusty cabinet with a lot of empty drawers out of my garage I knew it was my next project. 

It needed a good scrubbing so that was my first step. Next I had to remove the label from each drawer. 
When the clean up was finished I started to paint. I used Fusion Mineral Paint in Picket Fence on this project. I used a brush to brush on the paint. It gave me a smooth even coat.
The paint was sticking well especially because the finish on this cabinet was old and dull. 
If sticking was a problem I could use a little bonding agent and the paint would have no problem on shiny surfaces.
The rust spots in some areas began seeping through the paint so I used spray Bulls Eye Shellac on the top and sides of the piece then gave th…
