French Postcard Toile Eyeglass Case

While working on a project,
I had some valuable leftover scraps.
I thought I'd make a quick little project.
(Cause we all love quick little projects!)
I started with a French postcard from

I hand copied portions of the postcard onto
leftover paint cloth fabric using a permanent marker.
Then I cut out a piece of old quilted toile the same
size as my paint cloth for a lining.

I sewed the pieces right sides together on the
side I want to be my opening. Then I folded the right
sides together and sewed around 3 sides leaving one
open for turning inside out.

After turning it inside out, I sewed
the last side closed.
(see arrow)

Next, I stuffed the toile side into the paint cloth side.
When it's all finished you will want to iron and steam it flat.

See, there it is in there...

And now it's perfect for holding my big sun
glasses, camera or anything else I want to keep
protected from scratches.

(You could make a larger one and it would be a great place for your ipad too!)

Here is a look at another one I made for reading glasses...

The inside is a soft, double thick, striped fabric...

and one more...

 Ooh-la-la!

Ten Minute Notepad Update

"Ten Minute Update"

Sometimes all you need is a few
minutes to turn something from
frumpy to fabulous!

Take those old notepads we all
have laying around... Dollar store bargains....

I think I have about 6 left over from Christmas this year.

The one I used for this project had a snowman at the
top and the rest of the page was white...

I cut off the top 2" of every page,
leaving me with a stack of white lined paper.
(a craft knife will go through many pages at one time)

I then removed the cardboard backing and the magnet.

I used decorative scissors to cut one edge of the cardboard
and wrapped it around the top of the pad of paper.

I punched holes through the stack of pages
and the cardboard...
then tied it with twine.

I put the magnet back on the other side...

And now 10 minutes later, my
snowman notepad is on the refrigerator
and ready for a new season.

Quick and easy!
Add whatever embellishment, numbers or words
that strike your fancy!

Yay! It's Friday

Please join me in my very first Link Party:

I'm calling it...
All roads lead to homeroad!
(pretty catchy don't ya think?)

I'm so excited to be part of this great community of people!
You have all been so supportive to me and to each other.

So now I'm going to give the Link Party a try.
I'm hoping you will all link up your great projects to share
with me and each other!

Here are some pretty standard rules:

  • All projects welcome! Paint, furniture, crafts, sewing...
  • Please grab my button and add it to your post or on your
    sidebar so we can link.
  • Visit other people participating in the link party.
  • Please don't link up any sponsor sites or Etsy shops
    (we'll do that another time)
  • This is my first try so let's get this party started!...

At almost 300 followers,
I want to thank you again for being such
great followers and supporters!

It's Not Your Imagination...

No you're not seeing things...
I've been Picnik creating...
and I've been a little undecided about
which header to finally use...

This one was there...

and this one...

and this one for a minute...
(you probably didn't even see it)

 and this...

 and this...

and I was definitely sure of this one for
about a nano-second...
(I switched back and forth six times)

Then I was sure I was going with this one...

But at the last minute I thought it was too dark...

So finally.... I decided to go with this one...
I think!!!

Yikes!
(Don't be too surprised if this one is gone tomorrow too...)
