How to Repurpose a Lamp Series of Projects
Welcome to a 5 part series:
"What can be done with an old lamp!"
Picture if you will, a lamp found on the side of the road. A very large lamp... 4 feet high, very ornate and weighing about 50 lbs... It had to have come from a castle!
It was brought home not by me this time, but by my dumpster diving daughter. Even I had second thoughts about repurposing this one!
The lamp sat in the garage for a very long time until I couldn't help myself any longer, I had to do something with it.
So I took it apart.
The more I unscrewed, the more excited I became.
Look at all this good stuff! Now my creative mind was racing!
I was thinking candle holder...
and candle stick...
I even thought these pieces would make some very cool hooks, maybe even a whole line of them!
I'm even thinking planter.…

How to Make Flatware Stockings
Here's a cute little way to serve your flatware for Christmas dinner a la Pottery Barn.
I decided to make my own today.
With right sides of a cotton muslin fabric together...
I sewed around the stocking leaving a rather long leg on the top of the stocking for rolling.
Turn the stocking right-side-out, add a heart, fold down the top two times and press.
Then make more, enough for your whole family.
Next, if you're like me and just because you're on a roll you cut some out of a different fabric!
This time I did not roll down the top, I liked the ragged edge.
Then make a whole bunch more!

Painting a Room With Dutch Boy Paint
I was asked by Dutch Boy Paints to do a post for their paint.
This is the first time I'm testing a product for a company and I decided to give it a try.
First we chose a room that needed painting.
That would be my daughter's room, the very bright pink is a hand-me-down color from her older sister.
Kerry is the third sister to occupy this room!
Very bright pink!
Kerry picked the new color.... she chose Soft Terrain.
After patching, priming and preparing the walls, we got busy painting.
Ok, so really my husband painted but someone had to take the pictures.
According to Jim, the paint went on very smoothly, evenly and quickly. "It was good paint to work with."
