About Me

Hi Friends,

I am Susan, the author and creator at Homeroad.

I am a wife of 27 years, the mother of 4 daughters,
and the grandmother of soon to be 4 grandsons.

I am a DIY Blogger and if that wasn't enough,
I work part time as a  PreK teacher.

I have a passion for anything artsy and creative.

You can follow Homeroad on Instagram,
Facebookand (with 2.7 million followers) on Pinterest.

I began Homeroad in 2010 on a whim.

It has been an incredible journey which has given me the opportunity to be on TV:

HGTV's Flea Market Flip

ABC's The Chew and a

Hometalk craft segment on NBC Nightly News

I've been featured or published in these great places:

I am a member of Martha Stewart's Circle.

I love to build and repurpose cast-offs into one

of a kind treasures like this gorgeous chalkboard

Once I even found an old heavy lamp on the side of the road and turned it into 5 new projects and sold them all.

That is how I became hooked on repurposing.

I paint and distress and repurpose furniture

of all kinds including this gorgeous farmhouse hutch

I ended up keeping for myself.

I like to think outside of the box and hope to bring

a new creative perspective to others as well as making people think twice about how they can reuse things that may have been headed for the trash.

I hope my projects at Homeroad inspire a new generation of crafters and DIY lovers.
