Hey! Anyone out there a fan of vintage hangers?
I sure am and today I'm going to show you how I've used them to create easy DIY projects as well as using them in my home for decoration for storage and for organizing!
Vintage hangers are easy to find at garage sales, thrift stores and antique stores.
You can get all kinds at great prices and if you're really lucky you may find some with vintage signage on them!
Take a look...

I'm back at it today using the amazing cross stencil from Old Sign Stencils.
If you're a fan of the black Swiss cross design that's been trending lately then you're going to love this project!
A stencil that is simple, graphic and easy to use.
Take a look...

Have you seen the beautiful frames people are putting around their wall mounted televisions? They put a screen saver on the screen and it looks like a gorgeous painting in their living rooms.
This gave me an idea... Of course it did...
My office is quite eclectic. Right now I have several vintage gold frames hanging on the wall so I thought "Hey... why not make a frame for the small TV I have hanging on the wall."
And so I did...

My inspiration came today from a high end catalog that was sent to my house... and why would I order from a high end catalog when I can get the look for less!?
I began this project by repurposing an old framed bulletin board I had in the basement.
At one point I painted everything I could find a chalky white but my tastes have changed and I'm very into the vintage gold and brass look lately.
See what I did...

Sometimes one project becomes another.
If I don't sell, or I have no use for a project, I usually recycle it.
I use many of the things I made for my house and in the past sold things in my little shop space.
This is true with today's project, it was too cute to throw away so I am recycling it for a completely different use and surprise, no Christmas today!

Where have you been Homeroad?
It's been weeks since my last post, it's been a hot summer and well frankly, I've been totally unmotivated.
Here's a project I've had on the back burner for a while now and if you're a fan of argyle you'll love this one.
The best part is that this project can be used several ways!

Do you love the look of floating shelves? Today we are going to show you how to make floating shelves and a home office area easily and inexpensively using IKEA supplies!

I've been on an organizing frenzy in my office lately and while ready to purge anything I didn't need anymore, I ended up using a few of the pieces to create a great organizer!

Every once in a while a treasure finds its way to my front steps. Today was one of those days as I opened the door to a gift from my son-in-law's family.

I haven't had my sewing machine out in years but since life has changed, I am now teaching my preschool class from home.

I'm creating a series of repurposed vintage kitchen tools on Homeroad in the coming week. I'm giving a class at our local library and I'm preparing a few projects to demonstrate. The first repurposed project starts out with these two pieces.

Today I'm sharing another project from this pile of vintage mirror and vanity parts I picked up on the side of the road.

It all began with this old toolbox I found at the thrift store. I seems to be made of plywood and paneling and looks quite old.

I needed a sign for the door of my new home office. I like the look of enamelware signs but I wanted to create one myself.

Do you ever shop your home? I mean rather than the thrift shop or clearance aisle? Shop for things in your closets and cupboards that you may not always use? Well I did today when I saw a photo in a magazine, I knew I could reproduce the wall shelf with a tray I had in my kitchen.

The after Christmas sales are great right now. Even if you think you can't use it because it has a holiday theme, with a few simple steps you can create a whole new project!

The perfect white cupboard didn't start out that way. It was a Facebook purchase for a great price but the color was all wrong for my neutral home.

This weekend I created a little home office for myself. It's nothing much, a folding table and a large monitor are going to make my life much easier.

This is my bathroom door... I made this sign several years ago.

Today I'm making a "laundry" sign and a sign for my craft room/office that says "create".

First I painted a board black, let it dry and printed out the word "laundry" on the computer using a font and a size that worked with the size of the board.
Next, using graphite paper, I traced around each letter and painted the letters white with acrylic craft paint.

Using a medium grade sand paper when the paint was dry, I sanded down the letter…

When most people are asleep on a Sunday morning, I'm up and working on my next project.

I'm fixing up the old shabby bulletin boards in the kitchen this morning.

I bought a plain drop cloth at Home Depot the other day.
I was planning on recovering pillows for my living room but I had a better idea for now.
Step one was to cut off the finished edging all the way around the canvas... save it! (You're gonna need it later)

I measured the bulletin board inside the frame and cut the canvas to the exact size of the cork.

Next I sprayed the back of the canv…
