French Le Chocolat Basket
A unique little basket coated with Annie Sloane Old White.
I used a graphic from the Graphics Fairy called brown Chocolat. I printed it in reverse then coated the words with Modge Podge.
I flipped the image over and smoothed out all the bubbles.
I let the paper dry then rubbed off the paper. Next I distressed with sandpaper and waxed with Annie Sloane clear wax.
An adorable rustic basket for your Chocolat!

How to Make a Cubbie Table
Last night I was hanging out in the basement... just my power tools and me.
I had this old compartmented box and an idea.
I started putting random pieces together, I added the cubbies to the top of a flat wooden box...
As you can see I am not trim work expert!
I attached the 2 pieces to the bottom of an old sewing chestthatI had taken apart a while back, these legs were already there.
I painted the whole piece white with Annie Sloan chalk paint, waxed it with furniture wax with jus a dash of brown paint in it to give it depth.
Then I added an advertisement fromThe Graphics Fairy
The graphic was added by printing an image in reverse, trim it so there isn't much paper around your image. Coat the printed side with Modge Podge, add it to your surface and let it dry completely.

How to Build a DIY Farmhouse Bench
My neighbor was throwing out an old futon bed...
He couldn't imagine why I wanted it, he even offered me the screws so I could put it back together.
Imagine... He thought I was going to use it as a futon! LOL
I've been wanting to make a bench for a long time to go with my big farmhouse table and this was my chance to make one for FREE.
I cut the futon boards to the size I needed. There were spaces between the boards on the original futon so I added boards into the spaces between the existing futon boards.
Next I added a board to each of the sides.
Perfect length.... 6 feet long!
I bought cedar 4x4's for the legs.
The man in Home Depot was even nice enough to cut all 4 of them to the right size for me.
The legs are fitted into the corners and screwed in using long screws from the outsi…

Make an Easy DIY Vintage Banner
Pennant flags to decorate your home.
These were made from vintage upholstery tape.
I cut flag shapes from the tape and put a drop of hot glue in between the layers to secure the flags to twine.
Cute little aged clothes pinsclip to the top for decoration.
I added items of interest, vintage clip art, and old photos to the clips.
This garland adds a vintage look to my fan cover photo display.

Garage Door Turned Entry Shelf
Enough of the Wedding preparations already!!!!! (for now)
Would you recognize this as an old wooden garage door?
It was transformed with a coat of home-made chalk paint...
shelves and corbels left over from another project...
and a little midnight workshop action...
I created a skinny shelving unit, perfect for an entry or any narrow wall...
The addition of funky knobs for hooks, jute for pictures,
a rusty bar for hanging, and wooden trim gave it detail...
The rusty bar makes a great towel bar too!

Make a DIY Farmhouse Light
For many years we've been eating in the dark.
I looked high and low for a light that I liked (and that didn't cost a fortune) for over our farmhouse table.
An electrician had to wire the light for me so I was hoping to save money and not have to take it down and put up another one.
The light that came closest to what I wanted was this one.
$24.99 at Home Depot
Right light but wrong cord. I didn't like the way the black cord just hung there.
So here is what I did... I ran the plain, black cord through a matching ceiling fan pole I purchased at Home Depot.
The top of the pole was threaded to originally screw into another part so in an attempt to hide the threading, I found a plumbing part that fit on the top of the pole and I painted it to m…
