Tossed Out Side Table
Today I found a little piece of furniture in my garage that I didn't even know I had...
Broken Bench Pallet Art
My art projects started out with this old broken bench a friend dropped off at my house.
Hanging Coffee Bar Sign
I created a one of a kind hanging sign for a coffee bar.
I used the back of an old chair for the top arch, and a piece of reclaimed flooring for the sign, I created a coffee bar sign with a little extra zing!
I painted a reclaimed floor board light green then gave it a dark wash effect.
I printed out the word COFFEE on the computer then using carbon paper, traced it onto the board. I painted in the letters with black craft paint.
When the letters were dry I sprayed the painted surface with water, dry brushed a darker color over the water, then wiped the wet surface with a rag.
This leaves a beautiful streaked effect on the sign.
Using eye hooks and clips I attached the sign to the arch and my coffee sign has a little extra character.

Roll Top Desk Makeover
I love trying new products...
Today I'm working on a roll top desk using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint inTypewriterand a bonding agent.
This small roll top desk was adorable to begin with but I knew that painting it black would make it fantastic!
I love Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint so I'm trying it with the bonding agent today because I didn't want the chippy look on this project.
The paint went on smoothly and covered well in two coats...
No chipping but I did have some white residue when the paint was wet which when I brushed it in went away.
Possibly a little too much bonding agent, I never measure which is why I'm not a very good cook.
When the paint was dry I waxed the desk with clear wax.
I added white glass knobs and I'm thinking about this drawer liner, after all, the…

Miss Mustard Seed Milk Painted Wooden Folding Chairs
Not too long ago I ran across a pile of vintage folding chairs on the side of the road.
A Repurposed Birdhouse Condo
I knew this antique sewing machine cover could be turned into something else but when I bought it, I wasn't sure what...
until a friend said What about a birdhouse? Condo? Yes! That was it, a birdhouse condo! So I got to work.
The first step was to drill 3 holes into the front of the box using a drill attachment for drilling holes in doors.
I painted the birdhouse white with a black roof. With a little paint, the top of the sewing machine case made the perfect roof.
The best part of this project was adding the details... steps, columns, hooks for perches, and all the fun little touches that made this box look like a birdhouse estate from the good side of the tracks.
I added a thin piece of wood to close up the bottom which can be removed for cleaning. With a few pieces of hardware, the birdh…
