Rustic Driftwood Christmas Ornaments

It's time to start thinking about Christmas...

Rustic Driftwood Christmas Ornaments.

My first thought was to find vinyl Christmas words online
to use for my project.

But in the end I decided to hand paint them.

I used scraps of driftwood I found on the beach. I just love hunting for driftwood scraps on the beach.

I gave them a quick coat of white spray paint then hand painted Christmas words with a paint stick.

I gave them a quick sanding to give them a distressed, rustic look.

I drilled holes in the corners of each block and
wrapped waxed twine around the ends and through the holes of each block.

I finished some off with a flannel ribbon and a DIY rusty mini clothespin.

  1. Susan those are perfect. I love ornaments as a grouping, lots of the same style but each slightly different. And I applaud your 'using what you have/found' mentality, so much can be made of stuff we already have in our homes if you put your mind to it!

  2. I just love these, such a great idea and they look fab with the rustic appearance.

  3. Susan...that is your own handwriting? WOW! It looks just like a font I have for my Cricut! So cute and thanks for the linkback. Sweet!

  4. Nicely done...I"m working on small Christmas signs right now..but I'm using stamps and handwriting is not as good as yours!! :)

  5. LOVE them .. I may do a small tree and put nothing but these on the tree.. thanks for sharing

  6. I love your version Susan!! love the handpainted words. you did a super job with the jute and I love the little flannel and the clothespins!

  7. I would like to invite you to join me at the Clever Chicks Blog Hop this week!
