No Guts, No Glory!

10:49:00 PM

Today our library held a community craft fair/yard sale.
I was thinking about putting out a whole table of up-cycled
treasures from Homeroad the Store.
After all, I think everyone likes my stuff,
it is selling like hot cakes on Etsy...

But honestly...
I've never sold anything homemade face-to-face like that
before and I was a little nervous...

I fretted about it for weeks and in the end
I chickened out and decided to go with yard sale items...
since I promised a friend I would try, I brought 4
handmade items, just to see how they would sell...
And here they are...
(recognize the chicken wire cloche?)
after all... no guts, no glory!

Well, to my great surprise... in 5 minutes, 3 were sold!...
before the fair even opened!
So I went home and got some more...
For the rest of the day I talked up my shop, handed out my cards...
and sold almost everything!
Yay me!

Oh and while I was there getting rid of stuff, I came home with some awesome finds...

A beautiful beveled mirror...
This one's going white!
A gorgeous black iron shelf...
(the tag was still on it!)
 A red lantern...
The back of an Adirondack Chair...
(wouldn't this look great with a mirror and some hooks... stay tuned!)
And this awesome (demijohn) bottle in a basket!
(I know I've seen these for about a zillion dollars!)
So all in all it was a great day!
I learned to be brave, to shop early,
and oh yeah...
to wear sunscreen even if you don't think you'll need it!
