So Cool! Crazy Garden Planter

That's So Cool!
Series #7

Cool Crazy Garden Planter

Now trust me when I tell you that
this perennial garden is going to be beautiful!

(recognize the pallet table?)
But the cool thing I wanted you to see is this planter...

 Guess what!...
It's not a planter!! (well it is now)
but it is the base to a broken bird bath!

We all have them, the top breaks and what do you
do with the bottom?
Well....

Flip it over into a hole in the dirt,
fill the base with dirt, and...
instant planter!
Re-cycling!

Now all I need are real flowers!

Pewter Tray Update

As long as I have chalk board paint,
I will find something to paint....

How about a 10 minute update on an old pewter tray?

Just a few coats of chalk board paint in the
center of this tray...

A couple of screws to hold it to the wall...
(they had to be long screws to allow for the depth of the tray
and you might want to paint them to match the handle )

A basket to hold the chalk and eraser...

And in just a few minutes you have a message center.

I hang this one on the wall next to my daughter's room.
It holds all her mail and is great for leaving a note.

Have a great day!

French Stamping Love!

I was shopping in Michael's Craft Store
(for my 4th trip this week)
and I made a fantastic new discovery....
(this is not a paid advertisement)

 and these...

and these!

Some of you that are big into stamping may know all about this...But I had never seen this ink before...
and check this out!...

 StazOn really stays on!
I tried it on fabric.... it worked great!
I even ran it through the washer and dryer too!
(they tell you it is not for fabric, maybe it runs... but it didn't!)

I tried it on wood... another score!

Check out the detail, it doesn't run! And the
image is really bold!
Don't you think this would look great on an old crate?
Much easier than stenciling...
and the stamp images are sooo cool!
Next I tried it on ceramic... this was the big test...

It was a little slippery stamping on the round cup...

But hellooooo, it works great!
I absolutely love the way this comes out...

Now the package says... and I quote...
"Appropriate for all surfaces. Designed especially for use on plastic, metal, glass, ceramic, laminated paper, coated paper, and leather. (Not recommended for fabric)"
Dries in 3-5 minutes on non-porous surfaces.
I would however, not put the printed cup in the dishwasher!

But I will certainly be trying this out on all of the
above surfaces... My mind is going a mile-a-minute
trying to think of what to try next....
Stay tuned for the exciting other places I used this ink!

Fruit Bowl To Cloche Lamp

A couple new ideas from an old thrift store find...

I've seen a lot of these lately, a little rusty,
not too sure what to put in it...

Here are a few new thoughts...
I punched out the metal circle at the bottom of the bowl...

And flipped it over...

It makes a great cloche for spring!

Or a candle holder on the deck for summer...

and finally...

as a hanging light for the office!

I knew it could be something better
than an old bowl for fruit!

Ten Minute Lantern Update

"Ten Minute Update"
This old lantern needs an update!

I love rust as much as ok, more than the
next guy but this was a mess!

A little of my new favorite outdoor galvanized paint...

And my lantern looks great!

This birdie is singing a happy tune!
