Vintage Telephone Table9:38:00 AM
When I found it in front of a house that was being renovated
it looked like this...
I grabbed it and ran because it was adorable
though needed a LOT of work!
First it had to be glued with wood glue because it was falling
apart at the joints. Then I had to remove some bad veneer around the edges and that ghastly seat cover...
Just another day painting furniture in my driveway...
it is a great way
to meet your neighbors, a real conversation starter.
"What are you doing and why do you have furniture
all over your driveway?"
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite then coated it
with clear wax for protection.
Next I recovered the original seat with grain sack.
The grey-blue stripe was perfect!
Still thinking it needed a little something...
I found this image on the internet here then
using my favorite transfer paper... Lesley Riley's Tap Paper,
I ironed the image right onto the seat.
This adorable table has a brand new life now!
I buy all my Annie Sloan Chalk Paint at
where they sell vintage and reconditioned furniture,
Annie Sloan and Miss Mustard Seed Paints,
and give classes in how to use them.
You will also find vintage clothing, hand-made jewelry,
shabby chic treasures, hand-made children's clothing, industrial treasures, antiques and collectibles,
and of course the Homeroad Shop where you
can purchase everything you see created on this blog.
