Upcycled Message Center

chair table leg chalkboard memo board

Recycled parts from old tables, a slate cheese tray, and a cork tile create a one of a kind rustic message center.

repurposed chair table leg and chalkboard

I searched my workshop for bits and pieces of furniture I could put together to create a one of a kind message center.

I had slate, cork, string, hooks, clothespins and window parts

ledge for chalk

The slate chalkboard was a cheese tray I found at the thrift store at one time.

I attached the slate to the back of 2 table legs with scrap wood on the back as a base.

I then added wooden ledges on both the top and bottom.

hook for keys

Old hardware pieces were added to make a great key hook.

bulletin board

I recycled a cork tile and turned it into a small cork board at the top.

I glued the cork to a broken wooden frame and attached it to the top.

string to hold photos with clothespins

The legs were from an old table and was the anchor for this whole project.

The legs made the perfect place to string wire for a unique way to hold photos.

I used small vintage looking clothespins that I aged myself using this DIY recipe.

It all came together to create a one of a kind vintage looking message center I can hang in my farmhouse kitchen.
