DIY Memo Board Creation

I try not to take myself too seriously.

Sometimes when I'm bored I like to see what I can create
from what I have around the house.

Truth be told many times I take my creation apart after I've built it.

So if you're reading my blog one day and you say to yourself
"what the heck is she thinking..."

I'm not, I call it DIY practice.

I'm exercising the right side of my brain.

So in keeping with the "I have no idea what I am going to do with this" theme today...

I started with this crate.

I stained it with a vinegar/steel wool solution and added some bling; a hook to the side and a cork tile.

then an old piece from an outdoor lamp as a stand.

I made push pins with numbered scrabble tiles and thumb tacks.

And I was done!

What is it you ask? A desk top bulletin board?
A kitchen recipe holder?

Actually... I don't know...
but it scratched my creative itch for today.

  2. I love how you think! I think we have something in common,I'm always trying to to make something from nothing too. This could definitely be used for recipes and if you add some wood pieces to the back you could use the back to store the recipes you print off! Adriana

  3. Most folks would be lucky to have a thimble full of whatever you have in the right side of your brain!
