A Refurbished Vintage Scale

Added to my vintage scale collection this week is this beauty...

I know... it's gorgeous, but it didn't always look like this.

Here is what it was when I bought it, but right side up LOL

Dirty, rusty, and a mess... vintage is vintage but this was not good vintage.

Before I even got it home I knew what I was going to do with it... paint it of course!

The perfect paint for this project was Fusion Mineral Paint in Lily Pond.

This beautiful light vintage green was the perfect color for this scale.

The paint went on smoothly and covered in just about one coat.

No prep required and it has a built in top coat so when the paint dried I was done!

I'm so excited to add this gorgeous green scale to my collection and happy to say that Fusion Mineral Paint came through for me again!

  1. great idea Susan. Sometimes vintage can be a little too funky. your makeover looks almost like the real original finish...maybe needs just a little faux wear and tear on it, and some aging, and no one would ever know it's refinished.

  2. Great makeover love how you refinished it so it's still holds it original character.

  3. You did such an incredible job making your old scale pretty again. How did you know what to do to put it back as it should be?, talk about a labor of love. Then color you painted it is perfect.
Oh how I envy you finding such a gem. Don't find goodies like that here (Grand Junction, CO) unless it's way too expensive for me. Your scale sure is a keeper. Enjoy it and rest of your week
