Every see these cans at garage sales or vintage shops?

Goodness knows it's great by "as is" but if you want to give this vintage can a little personality then check this out...

First I built a pedestal using the spindles from an old headboard I found.

Then using E6000 glue and a screw I attached the coffee can to the top of the pedestal.

I painted the inside of the can with a dark chalk paint because it was very rusty and needed just a little sprucing up.

I added a little lace trim around the top of the can with hot glue and now this old coffee can can have a new life and a little more personality.

It makes a great fruit bowl.

Or drop in a plant, it's the perfect size.

Don't have a green thumb like me?  (that's a joke!)

Then how about a bouquet of faux greenery?

Whatever you decide to put inside this old coffee can that used to reside in my grandfather's workshop has a brand new purpose.
