Beautiful Vintage Dresser and a Memo Board

I tried to sell this dresser and mirror "as is" ....

Unfortunately it was a "no go".

It was a find from my sister-in-law and I couldn't even give it away!

I decided to put some work into it.... I repaired all the drawers and gliders then painted the dresser a beautiful color called Sterling from Fusion Mineral Paints.

Here is the work in progress...

I left the very large carved handles in place because well... they were just cool!

I love using Fusion Mineral Paint on old furniture because there is very little bleed through like you get with other white paints and there is no need to wax because Fusion is self sealing!

This is the dresser with the first coat... better already!

And here it is with 2 coats of the fabulous color called Sterling which is white with a grey undertone.

The drawers have now been re-glued and were in good shape but I decided to paint the inside and sides of the drawers because the two toned look is so pretty.

Along with this dresser came a mirror which was in almost as bad shape as the dresser...

The mirror was pretty much shot so I removed it and painted the frame.

When the paint dried I added chicken wire to the back and and added antiqued clothespins to create a gorgeous memo board that matches the dresser.

The chicken wire memo board and the dresser make a gorgeous combo and are amazingly different than they were when I got them.

I bet someone wishes they bought them "as is" now!
