Apple Cutting Board Chalkboard

A quick way to update a fun thrift store find.

I painted an apple shaped cutting board with

The paint chipped liked I hoped it would.

Milk Paint is unpredictable on anything with a
finish.. sometimes it chips and other times it doesn't.

I coated the apple with Fusion Mineral Paint
Tough Coat to keep it from chipping anymore.

I taped off a square on the apple and painted the inside with chalkboard paint.

If you don't want milk paint to chip on your project you can add the bonding agent to the paint for a finish that will stick.

I added a small piece of a Scrabble Rack to hold chalk and painted the leaf and the chalk rack to match.

The hook is a great place to hang your keys.

This old cast-off now has a new purpose.

A great teacher gift!
