In our home we do have a home office... my husband uses it and you can probably understand why it might be hard to share.

So I made myself a small place to write my blog posts in the Den. You can read all about this small room HERE.

Aside from the lack of places to keep my "stuff", there is a treadmill in the corner and I have to move the desk to use it.

I was looking for a place to keep all my papers and supplies all in one spot and not look messy.

At the thrift store the other day I found this old wooden magazine rack.

It didn't take long for me to decide that I needed a portable home office and this would be the perfect place to keep all my office supplies.

I gave it a quick coat of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Typewriter

When the milk paint was dry, I gave it quick sanding to give it a distressed look then coated it with Polycrylic sealer for protection.

This magazine rack is the perfect size for file folders and clipboards

I added repurposed metal string light shades for pencil cups on the side and an upside down cup pull for a little pocket. I painted them to match with a metallic spray paint.

On the other side I added a large bulldog clip to hold a note pad and on the inside, smaller clips for post-it notes.

I added a large (old) license plate that came from my parent's car from the year I was born.

The smaller license plate on the clip says SUSAN and was from my bicycle when I was a child.

Those beautiful free printable calendars are from imom and can be found HERE.
