DIY Beautiful Vintage Bed Spring Centerpieces
Hanging out in the workshop and just creating from what I have at hand is one of my favorite things to do.
Putting together a little bit of this and a little bit of that sparks my creativity and usually results in something fun.
Today I'm starting with a pile of vintage bed springs in all different shapes and sizes.
On top of each spring, I made a nest.
I used raffia on a few...
I wrapped the raffia around my hand a few times to form a nest then using a hot glue gun I attached it to the top of the bed spring.
On top of the raffia, I added a pre-made neston one and the other some faux flower sprigs and colored Easter eggs.
On the top of another spring, I used a huge faux flower from my collections then added one of the mini farmhouse wreaths I made a while back.
To that, I added moss, sp…

Think Spring Stenciled Wreath Decor
If you're like me you're more than ready for Spring!
This project is made from a repurposed thrift store find and is slightly Rae Dunn inspired.
I painted the picture with Fusion Mineral Paint in raw silkwhich is the color of my Rae Dunn mugs.
Next, I drew a grapevine wreath by using a Sharpie paint marker and going around in a circle several times.
Originally I had wanted to use a Chalk Couture transfer I just purchased but it was too large for this board.
I did, however, use the small branches that came with my Chalk Couture transfer to add little leaves and sprigs around the smaller hand drawn wreath.
Next, I cut a stencil using mySilhouette Cameo.
The blue stencil filmis the BEST for doing stencils, it is very thin and I never have an issue with leakage.

I may have just invented a beautiful new speckled Robin's egg blue color for the Spring.
And it was actually quite by accident!
I began with a plain wooden bowl and I wanted to paint only the inside for this project.
I thought about painting it white or trying a new blue stain...
First I thought I would stain it with spray on paint stain in a color called Broken China Blue that I was anxious to try.
The color wasn't what I wanted so I wiped it off... or so I thought.
When the bowl dried I began painting it with Fusion Mineral Paint in Raw Silk.
Raw silk is a beautiful warm white.
Little did I know but the blue stain had leached into the wood and it mixed with the Raw Silk when I painted the bowl.
I let the first coat dry, thinking it would seal before I gave the bowl another coat of Ra…
