Scripture Pallet Sign9:46:00 PM
I must say I'm getting better at these special orders...
This request came from one of my favorite customers.
There was a photo and a request for the size.
This pallet sign is huge so at first the size intimidated me, 36" wide was going to be a challenge.
I had the perfect pallet wood I found on the way to work one morning.
I cut it to the right size then attached it together with wood glue and boards on the back.
I gave the pallet a wash of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen.
Using my Cameo vinyl cutting machine I designed the words on my computer then cut them out with the Silhouette.
I'm learning a lot about using the machine from a blog called Silhouette School. If you need help with your machine or are just looking for some great tips and advice I recommend you check Melissa's great blog.
My favorite tip for using my machine so far was one on choosing the right font from your font collection. I used this great tip to choose the perfect font for this project.
Unfortunately I didn't have enough vinyl on the roll so I had to piece my project together using smaller pieces of vinyl.... This was NOT easy!
There was a little divine intervention involved because getting these pieces of vinyl straight was no small feat.
When I decided everything looked great I used Old White chalk paint® and a sponge applicator to sponge in the letters.
Then praying out loud I pulled off the vinyl and thankfully it came out perfect!
I'm getting better at special requests and practice is making perfect using my vinyl cutter!
My customer loved her pallet sign and I'm feeling great about taking this special order!
