"Laundry" and "Create" door signs

This is my bathroom door...
I made this sign several years ago.

Today I'm making a "laundry" sign and a sign for my
craft room/office ~ "create"

First I painted a board black, let it dry and printed out the word "laundry" on the computer using a font and a size that worked with the size of the board.

Next, using carbon paper, I traced around each letter
and painted the letters white with acrylic craft paint.

Using a medium grade sand paper when the paint was dry, I sanded down the letters until they looked old and worn.

Then using raw umber acrylic paint and a damp rag, I rubbed the color over the lettering. This gave the sign an aged look.

Then I let it dry.... and started the "create" sign....

Then I screwed the signs to the doors.

My favorite word!

    Thank you!

    1. It basically means I used the color Raw Umber to coat the sign making it look old. I used a rag.
