How to Repurpose a Large Ladder

Ask and you shall receive, that works a lot in my junk world.

Just the other day I wished I had an old ladder and poof!

A ladder showed up on the side of the road on my way to work.

Problem was that in my excitement to pick it up and put it in my car I didn't realize just how big and heavy this ladder was.

So there I was, after making a U turn in the middle of the road, trying to jam this huge old ladder into the back of my Hyundai with a dress on!

I finally got the ladder into the car, it went all the way through the car and onto the dashboard.

Now I showed up at work with a ladder on my dashboard and my trunk open because it was hanging out of the back.

Pretty!

Ok, so anyway, I got the ladder home and tried to take the thing apart, easy right?

Not!

The ladder is riveted together, and rivets DON'T come apart!

So I ended up having to cut it apart with the jigsaw.

I had an idea for almost every piece!

I used the top to decorate the garden...

And the steps on the other side of the yard...

and then I brought the piece with the round rungs into the house.

This one is hung over my husband's dresser.

Now I have this one piece left over...

and yes, that is the part with the rivets.

I've got my eye on that last rung...

Tune in on Monday to see where it turns up!

Check out part 2 and see what I did with the last bit of ladder!

All-in-all it was well worth the trouble!
