How to Decorate a Deck and Secret Garden

Off my kitchen are 2 sliding doors that lead out to the deck,
my favorite room in the house...

One corner of the deck is covered with a gazebo...

Almost everything out here has been found, up-cycled
 or re-purposed...

Many old treasures furnish this space...
crates, tubs, baskets, repainted lanterns, pots and shutters.

This rusty funnel is a great place for another layer of plants...

  1. What a comfortable space! Love your garden, too!

  2. I'll bet it's nice and cool under there in the Summer, too, Susan. A great place to sit and enjoy some wine before dinner or some iced tea in the afternoon - ahhhh. : ) Your gardens are looking wonderful. Such a nice view you have to look at while on your deck.

  3. Your deck is just lovely and so inviting! Love your garden, too and the shower curtain idea. :)

  4. Love all of the touches you have added to your garden! The repurposed items are perfect! Now I am ready for warm weather in my neck of the woods! Here in Colorado we are still a bit behind, so I loved seeing your plants erupting. Happy Spring!

  5. So Beautiful Susan! Love all your repurposed items. Your gardens are Beautiful. Have a wonderful Sunday!

  6. That is gorgeous. I know you must enjoy every minute!

  7. Wow Susan! Love your outdoor spaces and details!!! The tub with the funnel...brilliant! You've inspired me to get to work with some things we have just laying around!! I'll let you know when I get to them! Won't be until after this next wedding, though!!

So delighted for your daughter and her hubby!! Where did they go for their honeymoon? One daughter went to the Smoky Mountains, and the other is headed to the pacific NW~~ Seattle and Oregon.

Hope you have a lovely week!
    Thank you for the inspiration!!

  8. So pretty! I'd take my wine and coffee out there! :)

  9. What a pretty spot. Looks like a great place to unwind in and read a good book!

  10. Such a fantastic and cosy space under that gazebo. All of your treasures found and made really make the garden special.

I'll take a glass of whatever your having, please. :)

  11. I can certainly see why it's your favorite spot.

  12. Ohhhhh, I love your space. What an awesome idea with the Gazebo!!

  13. Love your outdoor room. I've often thought about doing this but I had one question. Since the canopy slants toward your doors, do you have trouble with rain running off into your door? Do you have a trick? EnJOYed all the repurposing ideas.

  14. I'll be there shortly with some Cabernet in hand! Love the deck and that secret garden is just so wonderful!

  15. Lovely space packed with creative and fun ideas.
