How to Make a Beverage & Bar Cart
I found this beauty on the side-of-the-road...
Actually, my friend found it and and asked me to pick it up
for her but she never came and got it,
I painted it with Old White, distressed and waxed it.
I added vinyl letters that originally was printed to say BAKERY but BAR certainly worked better in this case.
I hung racks under the top shelf to hold wine glasses.
I'm loving the detail on the sides!
And I'm really hoping that when my friend comes over later today for my Cinco de Mayo party, she won't recognize this cart!
Next Day Update:
I found a wooden wine rack the perfect size at the thrift store. I painted it Old White to match the cart and added it to the bottom shelf.
Now I'm really keeping it!

Girl, you hit a home run on this, it is beautiful. I wonder, if you friend saw the potential in the piece by the side of the road, she might recognize it, but how could she take such a wonderful piece that fits in so well with your entertaining style? I just think you might have to invite her over for LOTS of cocktails.
ReplyDeleteShe saw it and recognized it... looks like I'm going to have to share! LOL

Clever again. And... my neighbors have in their burn pile one of those wood baby changing tables. I'll bet I could transform it to patio bar cart with minimal work and copy you. Will you go over and knock on their door and ask if you can have it for a friend? I will come get it.

ReplyDeleteThis is really gorgeous, and how fortuitous that the wine rack fits perfectly without covering the BAR letters. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love it! BAR is perfect & the details on the side are just lovely :o)
ReplyDeleteSo cute and functional. I've been debating how to turn an old potting bench into a bar for my porch. If I go for it, I'll share it! Cheers to mine turning out half as great as yours!

Oh, yes. A bar is right up my alley. Mmm hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI hope she doesn't read your blog..... Great job!
ReplyDeleteFound you at the Pin the Tail on the Bloggy party. Thanks for sharing this. I have a TV stand sitting in the back of the garage waiting for a new purpose. You've inspired me to breath new life into it very soon. :)
ReplyDeleteThey snooze, they lose! Lol. I am betting that she wants to share after such a great transformation! I love the wine rack addition as well. Great job! I also found you via the pinning party and will definitely be pinning this one!
ReplyDeleteLove your transformation!! Your story is all too familiar. I was hanging on to old rusty tray tables for my friend. She decided she didn't need or want them after all. So I transformed them into beautiful Parisian-inspired tea tray tables. I wonder what she will say when she comes over... here's the link to my post if you're interested: http://altered-artworks.blogspot.com/2014/03/tres-magnifique-tray-makeover.html
