The Best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

If you know me you know that I don't usually like to cook.

But I sure do like to bake!

I am not a fancy food blogger but I do know what is good.

This is a simple recipe my family uses all the time and they love it!

There is only one thing better than Banana Bread and that is:

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

3-4 ripe bananas mashed
1/3 c. melted butter or margarine
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 egg

Mash the bananas, add the melted butter
Beat in egg, add vanilla
Mix well.
Add the sugar, salt, and the baking soda
Mix in the flour
Add 3/4 c. chocolate chips
(I use a mixture of mini and regular chips)

Pour into a loaf pan

Bake for 60 minutes
at 350 degrees

Let cool and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream...

Hey, what's a few more calories??

Enjoy!

  2. Funny, one of our favorites are chocolate chip banana muffins. I pack them in the kids lunch. But I change it up a bit and add flax seed, whole wheat flour and oatmeal. I have the recipe on my blog here: http://www.holy-craft.com/2011/09/best-housewife-ever-or-banana-chocolate.html

So yummy! You don't even realize they are good for you.
