Hanging Bistro Sign

This 2 sided hanging Bistro sign was made from pieces leftover from some of my favorite finds.

There was the table that I couldn't fix so I took apart and used the top to make a beautiful side table.

One of the legs from this table is the cross bar for my new sign.

The plaque that says BISTRO... is the footboard from this old bed.

I attached the table leg to another piece of wood that will screw into the wall. This made the perfect, perfect sign hanger!

I painted this piece black and white washed the hanging sign so it would look like bleached oak.

I printed out the word BISTRO on my computer, used carbon paper to transfer it to the wood and hand painted in the letters.

I sanded up the whole thing to distress the letters and give it an antiqued look.

I attached eye hooks to both pieces and hung them with a couple links of chain.

I painted the word on both sides of the sign so it could be viewed from either side.

This is looking from the kitchen into the table area.

If you want to see how the kitchen looks now with painted cabinets you can see it here.

There's a lot going on in here! Good thing there are so many signs!
