I started out my project by painting the frames
of each chalkboard.
Then using my printer and
a font I liked, I printed out a letter for each chalkboard.
I scribbled with pencil on the back of the printed letter then
traced the letter onto the chalkboard.
The tracing left a light image on the board.
Each letter was then filled in with a chalkboard marker.
The size and font is up to you.
When the chalk marker dried I attached the chalkboards to a length of jute using chalkboard clothespins....
All the supplies for this banner can be found at Michaels.
I added ribbons that matched my theme.
I tied on several ribbons of different widths, patterns,
and colors to add interest.
I chose to demonstrate a chalkboard banner at the party
because I am a lover of all things chalkboard.
I will be there to show my
chalkboard project as well as help guide you
through your own pin-worthy project. You decide what
you want to make and I will be there to help.
Chalkboard banners are perfect for any occasion...
and the best part is that they are erasable...
just wet the chalk marker and start all over for the next party!
I will be demonstrating a few different banners including
chalkboard pennants that can be purchased in a pack and
customized to your needs!
And for more chalkboard inspiration check out
my chalkboard label projects... will these inspire you
to label everything in your home?
Good luck with the Michael's event, Susan - I know it'll go wonderful! Your chalkboard banner is adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove your chalkboard banner...so cute!! I think I have some small chalkboards in my craft room. I think this banner would look so good hanging from my quilt in our dining room.
