Easy Framed Chalkboards with a Tip
I made these chalkboards back in 2011... the hard way!
But now a friend gave me a tip that I'm passing on to you.
In my local Home Depot store I was able to buy chalkboard.
Yep, you heard me... buy the chalkboard.
Not paint it, not spray it, buy it!
I had them cut my sheet of chalkboard into 8"x10" pieces perfect for putting into repurposed thrift store frames.
After I painted the frames in beautiful Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colors I added small pieces of matching scrabble shelves as chalk holders.
I pushed glazier points into the back to hold the chalkboard into the frames.
You can also use a point driver that shoots the frame holders right into the frame!
This is an easy and inexpensive way to repurpose a frame of any size!
Cool! I didn't know about the chalkboard either!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, never knew that. Genius!

ReplyDeleteGreat tip, Susan! I had heard about this but, of course, haven't made any chalkboards that I could actually go buy some. I like the glazier points, too.
