Easy Framed Chalkboards with a Tip

I made these chalkboards back in 2011... the hard way!

But now a friend gave me a tip that I'm passing on to you.

In my local Home Depot store I was able to buy chalkboard.

Yep, you heard me... buy the chalkboard.

Not paint it, not spray it, buy it!

It comes in large sheets and if you are really lucky, the men in the store will cut it for you.

I had them cut my sheet of chalkboard into 8"x10" pieces perfect for putting into repurposed thrift store frames.

After I painted the frames in beautiful Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colors I added small pieces of matching scrabble shelves as chalk holders.

I pushed glazier points into the back to hold the chalkboard into the frames.

You can also use a point driver that shoots the frame holders right into the frame!

This is an easy and inexpensive way to repurpose a frame of any size!
