Wooden Easter Basket and a Transfer

I thrifted an adorable wooden basket today!

and made it even better by painting the center strip with Old White Annie Sloan chalk paint.

I printed out a French candy image from the Graphics Fairy in reverse.

Using Mod Podge I coated the printed side of the paper.

I let it dry completely then wet the paper slightly and rubbed off the paper leaving the image on the basket.

Don't rub too hard at the end or you may rub off parts of the image.

When it dried again you could still see a slight film of paper. I wet it and gently rubbed off the remaining film.

I dried the image then distressed the painted stripe then gave the whole center stripe a coat of matte varnish.

It is the perfect Easter Basket.
