Stenciled Antiques and Collectibles Sign
This sign is all about what I love!
I love DIY, antiques, the color red, distressing, repurposing.... need I say more?
This project began with a pice of a repurposed broken table... yep, that 1/2 circle piece was once a table.
The table was Duck Egg Blue... you can read all about it >>> Carved Wood Table Pieces. Cute but it didn't work out so I broke apart the table and saved the parts.
I gave the half circle piece a coat of Empire Red Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan.
When the paint dried I stenciled on an Antiques graphic made by Old Sign Stencils then distressed the edges and around the stencil.
The Duck Egg Blue showed through the red and created a gorgeous vintage color combination.I used Annie Sloan Dark Wax to create an aged finish on the sign.
Hooks from my favorite place to buy hardware for furniture, hinges, locks, castors, latches, and gorgeous hooks at a great price were added to the bottom of the sign.
DLawless Hardware has a super large selection of hardware you will love to have on your furniture.
The stencil from Old Sign Stencils was made for this broken table top. I love the way it turned out and I'm over the moon about the color and aged look of the sign.
*Old Sign Stencils and DLawless Hardware were kind enough to send me samples.
I make a few pennies off any sale of Old Sign Stencils.
All opinions about these fabulous products are my own.

This is so pretty, Susan! I love red signs, and the distressing is perfect! ❤
ReplyDeleteThe red shiny color will sure grab the eye before anything else. Love wording, simple, and how you distressed. Hooks on bottom of sign look pretty darned good too. That's a keeper. I have always loved making and decorating with signs. Great job. Will have to look into the old sign stencils, you do great job with them. Great idea revamping pieces of old table, smart. Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteLove this, Susan. The color is amazing and so is the stencil
ReplyDeleteThat is one gorgeous finish on this piece, Susan! Swooning over the antiqued red! Thanks so much for your mentions! :)
