Repurposed Drawer Farmhouse Pedestal Dish
Another repurposed project today using spindles I recycled from an old twin bed headboard.
At one point along the way I got ahold of a free 1970's twin headboard with spindles.
I removed all the spindles and have used them on many upcycled projects like this Garden Sign and this Vintage Coffee Can Pedestal Dish.
Today I'm combining just 3 pieces for this project. An old drawer with a tin ceiling front, these wooden spindles, and a square block of wood to create this beautiful pedestal dish.
It is an easy build, just attach all the pieces with wood glue and screws and you've got a pedestal dish in beautiful farmhouse style.
I painted the piece with a chalky white paint then used a paste wax to seal it.
The drawer can be filled with greenery or a faux moss ball to create a beautiful Spring look... and who couldn't use a little Spring right now?

You are so creative! I love seeing your posts and new ideas daily! You make everything look so simple. I'm always on the lookout for spindles but would've never thought to but an old headboard or even old chairs and dismantling them.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
Thanks Candylea! Yes those spindles are the ones I like the best, I've used them on tons of projects!
DeleteLove the project and the drawer. Just curious what kind of a drawer had the tin tile front?
ReplyDeleteThanks Teddee! I think it was originally part of a big piece that had a bunch of drawers. There were about 6 of them when i found them.
