Repurposing a project today to add beautiful 
Spring flowers. 
This rustic flower box began life as a photo display.
At one time I made it using chippy old leftover wood from the workshop but the time had come to give it a new look.

I just discovered these beautiful enamelware planters at IKEA and you know what that means!  
A new repurposed project is on the way!  These planters are a warm white with a black rim and made of metal that resembles vintage enamelware. 


They have them in 2 sizes and they're called CITRONSYRA. 
I grabbed one small (4") and one large (6") and headed home excited to make something fun! 
First I drilled a hole in the bottom of each pot. 
I used painter's tape to mark off the center then drilled through the tape so the enamel wouldn't chip. 
I gathered a few more supplies for this project, a lamp base, and an old wooden white candlestick. 
I cut the candlestick to the size I needed then drilled a hole in the top and bottom.

This project is made from a repurposed thrift store find and is slightly Rae Dunn inspired. 



I painted the picture with Fusion Mineral Paint in raw silkwhich is the color of my Rae Dunn mugs. 
Next, I drew a grapevine wreath by using a Sharpie paint marker and going around in a circle several times. 

Originally I had wanted to use a Chalk Couture transfer I just purchased but it was too large for this board. 
I did, however, use the small branches that came with my Chalk Couture transfer to add little leaves and sprigs around the smaller hand drawn wreath. 
Next, I cut a stencil using mySilhouette Cameo.




The blue stencil filmis the BEST for doing stencils, it is very thin and I never have an issue with leakage. 

Be sure to save those old outdated signs! They can easily be turned into something pretty and new! 


This old sign was a garage sale find with flip flops all over it.
It is now a brand new chalkboard with farmhouse style. I painted the front and back with chalkboard paint then glued an old Scrabble tile shelf to the front to hold chalk. I hung a buffalo check ribbon through the holes that were there to hang the chalkboard.
I added the little hello with Chalk Couture, a fun little silkscreen process that takes minutes.
That's all it took to turn an outdated thrift store find into an awesome new chalkboard. It's great to hang on a door.
Or perfect for a quick note in the kitchen.
The best part is, it couldn't have been easier!

This fun sign technique was inspired by a sign I saw while out to dinner. 

Not a great pic but you get the idea.
