Shabby Drop Leaf Table

9:51:00 PM

Lately, I'm a chalk painting fool...

My basement is full of small painted tables,
a ladder, a couple of stools, and some folding chairs that
are just waiting to be painted... I'm also driving around town with a bedside table in the back of my car...

Not only is my basement too full of stuff....

But my love for chalk paint has left
everything covered in an inch of dust!

I'm looking forward to spring when I can work outside...

And hopefully find a place to sell some of my pieces...

Hello, I think I have a problem...

  1. Amen Sister! Usually I want spring for the warm weather, but this year I want the warm weather for outdoor sanding!

  2. Love the table and that fabric on the bench! I also have way to much awaiting to be worked on in my basement. I've been so busy with a custom painting job that I haven't been able to work on anything knew yet.

  3. That chalk paint does make it easy to power through the projects for sure! Your pieces are lovely.

  4. What a cute little table and I love that bench, Susan! I have at least three painting projects for this week. I need the garage clear for that though and for some reason I've got two cars in my way! ; ) I'm hoping today ~ hubby will be gone for the day and I will move my car out so I can get going. I start to feel antsy when I want to start a project but have to hold off.

  5. Wonderful projects....every last one of them! You need to find a booth or occasional sale to sell your pieces. People would go crazy for them!

  6. Love the table! I have yet to try chalk paint, mostly because I'm afraid I'll get addicted too!

  7. Susan, have you tried using a damp rag to distress the edges instead of sanding? works like a charm and no dust.

    1. Thanks for the tip Shelly... I tried it on another project and it worked great. I'll be trying it on wood next. Thank you!

  8. If you have a problem, then it is shared by alot of people. I have the same problem. Only mines is beads. Because we are trying to sell the house, I cannot buy/find any furniture. It is killing me softly.
