Where to Hang Stockings with No Fireplace

Twas the night before Christmas...

when all through the house

not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung

Oh wait!

Stockings can't be hung by my chimney because of a
big old wood burning stove on our hearth.

I had to find a creative way to hang our stockings.

By attaching a few old rusty hooks along the sides of an old ladder, I made a stocking holder.

  1. Hi Susan,
I'm a little late reading the blogs I follow--to much to do and not a lot of time. Love your ladder idea--we have the same problem. Next year I'll know what to do! Thanks!

  3. I love this so much! I don't have a fireplace anymore, so I ordered a think coat hanger that came with seven awesome hooks and I'm going to mount that onto an old piece of barn wood with the same saying!
Your ladder is a terrific idea!

    1. Thanks Candylea, It was too much having these large stockings on the fireplace and the ladder works great! :)
