Organizing a Hutch

When you are trapped in the house for
days on end due to snow...

There is only one thing to do...

Clean and Organize!

I took everything out of the hutch and organized the dishes. I made a pile for Goodwill and a pile for my daughter.

The inside of my hutch is painted a chippy green so the white ironstone really pops.

The library card catalog is from my grandfather's workshop.

He had it filled with tools, I have it filled with candles.

This hutch is a giant vintage reproduction hutch made of mahogany and weighs a ton!

I added some pretties to the top, the wood ceiling is very high...

It was good to have a day like this to clean and organize!

Here is what was going on outside a couple of weeks ago...
now you know why we were trapped in the house :)

Happily yesterday was 65 degrees and sunny....
could Spring really be on the way?!

I hope you enjoyed this project and you'll take a look at my Amazon Shop for craft supplies I recommend. Also while you're here please sign up for the Homeroad emails on my sidebar so I can send my latest DIY post straight to you.

  8. Been organizing around here as well. Also made spring wreaths to hang outside (amidst yesterday's 8" of snow!) Your hutch looks awesome. Oh, reorganizing? It's the term used when we are between projects! Blessings, Susan. Deedy from HomeandHarvest

  9. Love your hutch! During some of my snowed in days in February I was doing something very similar, painting a hutch, hmm very productive gals aren't we ;) Wow, that was lots of snow, thankfully we didn't get that much!
