Tossed Out Side Table
Today I found a little piece
of furniture in my garage that I didn't even know I had...
My daughter picked up this piece for me and dropped
it in the garage with all the other furniture
that is piled up in there...
I may never have found it behind 2 hutches, a sideboard,
a painted wooden ladder, and a potting bench.
Mind you this is a 1 car garage with wall to wall shelves,
3 bicycles, 2 garbage cans, and a 2 man kayak in there too.
So this little gem was easily overlooked.
Until today...
I dragged it out and panted it with
Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint
in Kitchen Scale,
a beautiful peacock blue color.
Please tell me I'm not the only one that paints furniture
in the middle of my kitchen.
Two coats of paint, a little sanding, a new handle,
and a coat of wax and I was finished.
I distressed heavily under the handle where an
old piece might have heavy wear.
I am pretty sure that this cute little side table
won't get over looked anymore!
No, you aren't the only one who paints in the middle of her kitchen! My sister thinks I am odd and it is nice to know someone else does it, too! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteGarage. Mess. Yes I have it.
ReplyDeleteI paint in my dining room that I cleared out just for that purpose. The table top I minwaxed in the garage didn't dry at all for the week after I did it, so I had to move it inside the house to get it to start drying and get over the "sticky" feeling. Come on Fall.
ReplyDeleteI love the color you painted it! Now it's a very cute piece of furniture anyone would be proud to have.

I not only paint in the middle of the kitchen, but often the dining table is covered with old shower curtains, card board and my newest masterpiece. I have a similar stand somewhere in MY garage, now just to find it. Love yours.
ReplyDeleteDarling piece, Susan! Adore the colour you chose. I could see a square basket in that bottom shelf...
